Default Slim speedometer issue

Hey everyone, I had an issue with my 15' slim's speedometer and wanted to see if anyone had some advice/had the same issue. Sometimes when I get on the throttle pretty good, when I hit about 45mph my needle will stick even though I know I'm going well over that. When I let off the throttle the needle goes back down but once I give it has it quickly jumps back up and sticks at 45mph again. Also, when I come to a stop, it will stay at zero but as soon as I start moving it quickly jumps up and puts me at like 20mph faster than I'm actually going. Once I stop and **** it off for about 5 minutes it's fine. I've read that it could be either a faulty speedo, a dirty speedo sensor or a faulty speedo sensor. Any advice would be appreciated!

I had similar problems with my 2015 slim shortly after I got it took to dealer they called Harley sent a new speedo they installed it no problems since. I've seen quite a few people with this issue bad batch of speedos I guess. Not sure if there is any fix except replacing it. ( Thanks for your service Sir )

I've read some other people having this same issue after it happened to my friend with a '15 slim. Seems that a replacement speedo is the fix.

Thanks for the info guys. Well looks like that's a good excuse to see if I can get a speedo/tach combo since it's still under warranty.

My 15 Slim also has the same problem. I keep meaning to take it in to have it replaced under warranty.

I needed to get mine replaced on my '15 as well. The ABS light (no ABS on my bike) is constantly on. Anyone else have this problem?

We did over 100 miles yesterday. I thought a few times it looked like the needle would seem to be bounce a little when I was around 45. I will have to watch for it again.

Had the same thing after 1000 mile service took it back in dealer made it go away don't know if there is a switch, fuse, or just disconnect the light but took about 10 min. to fix hasn't ever come back on ...........

I solved my speedometer condensation problem. I installed a Dakota Digital MLX-2011 digital speedometer on my 2018 Sport Glide. Nice easy installation. Bought it off of ebay.

Has happened on every Harley I have ever owned and never on any other manufactures bike I have ever owned, had mine replaced at 1100 miles already, may take apart and drill to stop staining from occurring.
