Seeking some info b/4 ordering saddlebags. I ride a 2013 vivid black Heritage and love the hell out of this bike. The wife and myself are constantly taking lots of day trips and over nighters fairly often, My only complaint with this ride is the bags. I have bag stabilizers installed and they are holding shape well, but they are a bugger to pack with over night or longer trip stuff ( mainly the wife's damn stuff). I like the leather bags OK, I just think the hard bags will serve our purposes better and I kinda like the look. I might even go with a fairing with some tunes later on.
I have been looking a lot and have pretty well decided that Reckless hard bags may be the way to go. They say rear turn signals have to be changed. They also say the stock turn signals will work with a spacer.
Have any of you bros used these bags on your Heritage and if so what was/is the deal with the stock turn signals? How did you handle this? Did you make a spacer or ? I don't want a cobbled up job that don't look nice. I won't mind too much having to go with another set of signals, I just don't want a real expensive or difficult switch-out. I am fairly handy mechanically, but I'm getting a little long in the tooth and don't want to run into a lot of expensive metal/paint work when dealing with the signals.
How about it, give a brother some advice or even recommend a different brand/approach that will work well, look nice and not break the bank. I want good quality that will stand up to normal use. Asking alot, I know.
I immediately realized that I was responding to a "trollish" comment with a "trollish" comment so I edited my comment.
I guess I didn't do it quick enough.
Really? You would put those cheap Asian bags on your bike?
Hey Dude....I didn't say I would, only answering OP's question, that you apparently didn't read.
Numerous outfits are making these ABS bags and the ones I posted are not some cheap bags by a long ways. (Probably making them for HD anyway).
Harley when with ABS material several years ago for a good reason (bounce back to form) like a Snug Top does!
OP, there is another option, stock bags w/vision mounts.
I can't decide if I want to proceed with hard bags, since I don't travel much anymore being OLD and just keeping the Heritage bags (looks) with my Heritage.
Then I look at yours and fall in love...LOL

Actually they are far superior to the HD bags that are plastic tsukayu bags are fibreglass, lined, lockable, have the same capacity the HD bags and are a far better styling for the heritage than HD. Had mine on my 04 for 5 years and have switched them over to my 16. You should
look at them before you start critizing.
