I am looking to put on a new seat for comfort on a 2007 Softail deluxe. (FLSTN). Want the biggest (widest), passenger seat. Was looking at the Saddleman Explorer.
Does anyone have a better seat suggestion and how wide is this seat for the passenger ?
I've got a Signature Series Seat with a HD circulator pad for the driver and a Road Zeppelin for my Wife.
The passenger portion of the seat is 14" at it's widest point.
She no longer complains of the ride.
Shop around; I got mine off craigslist for $250.
BTW- I do have upgraded Progressive 422 RAP shocks which also improve the ride.
I bought Harleys touring seat, the sundowner deep. It's like a couch and the wife had about 700 miles in it this weekend and the griping was minimal. Personally I don't like huge seats, they make my *** and legs sore and I prefer narrower and harder but if she ain't happy no one is happy lol.
Recently bought the Mustang Wide Touring one piece Vintage(#76048) from another member here who sold it because he got a different ride. Like it so far although we have not put a lot of miles on it. The wife says it is more comfortable the HD Deluxe Wide Pillion that we tried for a while. I like that it supports my lower back better than the stock seat.
I have Legend Air Shocks to install later this month which I hope to improve the ride more.
I have a hard time keeping my wife from bit**ing. The only seat that keeps her quiet is the Mustang Vintage Wide Touring. I came from an Ultra in July 2015 to an 2011 Heritage.....she hated riding on it. Harley sundowner and Signature didn't cut it. Mustang she loves. I found out that a Heritage was perfect for us so when the new white and teal came out last fall, I traded for one. News to me that the seat off the '11 would not fit the '16 due to some minor Harley design changes. I had to wait till July '16 to get the new Mustang witch is now 2 piece with the rider section base now plastic instead of steel. now I have to sell the one I bought for the '11.
