Looking to butbuckhorns on my 02 heritage. Current bars make my right hand fall asleep within 15 mins. Looking for 12 in rise and internal wired buckhorn. Please give any advise sugestions and post a pic of you got some, so I can compare. Thank you.
i think some of the older sportsters had bars like you're talking about...I dread internally wiring mine but I may change bars some day. I have tendonitis from my job an I put some one my V rod an they took the pressure off my elbow. I couldn't ride for 10 minutes with drag bars, but they looked cool. Here's what I ended up using:
The stock bars on my 99 fatboy are comfortable too but I'm not sure they will work with the bat wing I'm planning.
Might want to look at handlebars for a Honda Rebel. My first bike when I was a kid was a Rebel 250. Rebels came with stock buckhorns, very comfortable, relaxed, and provided great leverage for turning.
These aren't "buckhorns" per say but I just mounted these up about a month ago and really like them for comfort so far. I haven't taken a long ride yet though. These are 1.5" dia Carlini Freeway Bars. I mounted them so the bar was in line with the forks which put the grips downward slightly but not as dramatic as buckhorns. With them mounted this way they follow the angle of the forks and the gas tank (I don't have a direct from the side picture to show this but can get one if you would like to see how the angles come together).
Apologize for some of the fuzzy pictures. The camera was trying to focus on too much of the sparkles.
kvn those look similar in shape to my stock 99 fatboy bars...I have elbow an shoulder pain an these bars are comfortable to me....now I don't "tour", I normally stop every hour or so out playing around....
