I didn't like the looks either, but I got over it. For long interstate travel, rain, and cold weather, it's a necessity. I only take it off for local rides in really hot weather. You have to decide if you want form over function.

I only wear a full face. There is some buffeting with a 'shield, on long trips it is worth it for several reasons, including resting my arms.
