Looking for Deep and Loud pipes
As a matter of fact, I like the sound of my V&H Straightshots slip-ons on my Fatboy with the 103 better than the sound of my Dyna's Rush slip-ons with 2" baffles with the 110.
I would recommend you change back to the stock headers (weight savings notwithstanding), to allow you to install the V&H setup I have. See my sig. My bike sounds deep and loud! I will have to consider the quiet baffle, b/c it is loud.
I agree with some posters, at times, and depending on the set up, some V&H pipes sound a bit tinny, but not on my set up. It might be the smaller diameter of the 2 1/2" pipes, with the stock merger (2 into 1 into 2), with a decent length pipe. Bear in mind, sound is very subjective to all of us! Trust me, this combo sounds choice!
My only complaint was how difficult it was to install the V&H SS. Make sure you have small needle nose pliers and a small magnetic wrench and a lot of patience to mount the new slip-ons on the stock exhaust plate (6 flat head screws/washers/nut).
GL & cheers,
BB

The make them for both softails and baggers. Of course, the engines on those Dirty Birds custom bikes have obviously had work, which makes them sound a lot better. Still, they seem to be nice pipes.
