I dropped a gorgeous 2016 Red Sunglo Forty-Eight drove by 80 km.. I immediately understood that it wasn't right one..
Anyway, as 1st H-D, it's not so easy jump over a twin cam..about price, sizes, weight..but sooner or later you'll jump on it
I've been ever on surplace in between Heritage and Slim..Heritage is best choice to apply any idea: short or long trip, with or without passenger, with or without load..and windshield stand in right fit..wind in the hair could be a beautiful image but is not so useful..
If my wife will never jump on it and I'll realize not plan any serious trip, I could switch again with Slim (S) next year..
Anyway..now driving Heritage is a pleasure...
PS switched stock exhaust with Khrome Werks 3" tapered and added engine guard mustache

Congrats....Very nice Softail...I almost bought my buddy's 2010 Heritage that I helped sell during the summer..He settled for 10k. Couldn't Believe it, every stock part was chromed, forks, triple trees, stainless steel lines, driver's and passenger footrest, all chrome and no takers....til 10k.

I have 2 buddies that have had their bikes listed for months with no takers. They didn't want to take the hit at the dealer, but it's really hard to get a decent price for your bike unless you find just the right guy. The used market just seems flooded right now and stuff is selling cheap. My salesman buddy that works at the local dealer said that sales this year have been down 50% from the previous 3 years, even with the new engine release. Seems surprising but it has been dead every time I've been in there lately...
I found out personally that Harleys do not hold any great resale value! Its a myth and one the new bike sales guy will sell you on until its time to trade it back to him at huge loss!!!!
The Heritage is a very nice bike though, I miss mine a little but when its time to get another, someone is going to take a huge hit like did!!!!

They seem to take a huge hit for the first 5 years. After that they settle down and stay stable. All the mods people do actually go down the toilet when it comes to resale. Its hard to find a bike that hasn't been hacked up by some rookie that thinks all his hacked up mods are worth gold. A smart buyer wants an unmolested bike with service records. Again, hard to find.
