I have a 1997 FLSTC
S&S Super E Carb
Remainder is stock
After a long ride last night with no issues, I started up the bike this morning. No problems. Starts and idles just fine.
However, when I roll on the throttle. There is a lag and very little acceleration. I made a lap around the block and had the same issues in gears 1, 2, and 3.
Any help on where to start troubleshooting would be helpful. Thanks
If the clutch adjustment turn out to be OK, drop the carb bowl, pull out the jets and make sure there's no piece of crap stuck in them. Then make sure your air mixture screw is properly adjusted. Finally, check to be sure your accelerator pump adjusted properly? You may also want to get a look at your spark plugs and check for lean or rich conditions.
Accelerator pump plunger? does it happen only under load? or like said above carbon or dirt buildup but that usually causes flooding or lag when taking off.
