Default ? on difference between WG and ST front ends

I've been wanting to get a windshield for my '07 NT.The one I really want is the quick-release detachable super sport from H-D,p-n 57331-07.The 2007 H-D catalog softail sectionsays in only fits with the custom inverted front fork kit from H-D.In the dynasection,it list the same shield for '06 later WG,p-n 57301-06.Although I'm in a learning curve ,I thought the WG andFXST front ends had the same width. What's the difference?

Good question??

I like the new quick-release detachable windshields. I have the old skool design. I don't really use the windshield enough for me to spend the cash on an up grade.

Good luck on your quest!

I was looking at the super sport windshield for my standard. That unit will only fit on the inverted fork set up. The QR clamps are to big. I even tried to swap the hardware no goodon that as well. That is why i ended up with the wind vest

I thought... that the new fxst's were using the old wide glide forks and the wide glides had a bigger fork for this year... could be wrong though.

The second pn# winshield I refered above is listed for stock dyna front ends, not the inverted forks. The problem may lie in what lionsqrne refered to with the different tube sizes.Anyone know for sure?
