Laydown License Plate Bracket Question
mbmike
Hello there not sure this going to work yet but when the parts get in I will post a few pics, I own 3 bikes 03 fatboy, 06 deluxe, 06 SG, I actually hate the plate set up on the deluxe just sticks up out there?? Anyways after looking at my SG the lower bracket that hold's my after market frame bolts on the same on the fender as on the deluxe, so I ordered a SG rear light/plate holder and if it looks alright and clears the Tombstone tail lamp witch I do think it will i will then wire it up to have the plate light bulb working too. Parts for the bracket and the licence plate bulb was about $98 so maybe this next week will know for sure ??

I noticed your luggage rack isn't on your bike anymore...will the
laydown bracket fit with the luggage rack?
Where can I find the leather "thong" to replace the rear seat?
My wife has a small tour bag she likes to put on the rack.
BTW, good looking bike!

Remove the stock holder from the tail light. Take off the tail light, remove the plate "shoehorn". Put the light back on without the shoehorn. Take the stock plate holder, and cut slots on either side of the mount, right where the vertical bends are in the back plate. Cuts should run from bottom up, about an inch. Bend back the area where the plateholderbolts to the light, about 45 degrees. Bolt it back on the light, make any adjustments to the bend to conform to the fender. It is very easy to do, takes about 20 mins, doesn't cost anything, and it looks great.

It is very easy to make the stock plate holder from a Deluxe into a laydown.

Thanks. I love your wheels, got any more pictures of the bike. I also checked out your website, I used to have a 66 Nova SS about 10 years ago. Sweet little ride. I just sold my 66 Chevelle SS.
