Hey
I need some info about riders backrests for a Heritage Classic. Whats everyone using? Is there a backrest out there that mounts to the original seat without the need to buy a new seat?
Any info is appreciated.
Depends on your back problem, if that's the reason you need one. If you have pain in the lumbar region of your back I don't think that "Protac" support will do you much good. Another option is the "Bikers Friend" barrell bag--full support from lumbar up.
I use a FireHouse Custom backrest for my heritage. Fits with original seat and pillion. @ $115 without studs. Very comfortable but moves youforward an inch or two.
I was pretty lucky, looked everywhere for a rider's backrest for my FatBoy. Was heard bitching about it by a friend and he just made me one, Don't even know how he did it, but he said it only took about an hour, then another friend made a leather pad around it.
Check my sig link, looks and feels great. Must be easy to make, or have someone make.
Wish I'd have seen this post earlier. I took someone's recommendation on the Kurykan "Tombstone" bag. Just ordered it on the web. Supposedly has an integrated rider backrest; can only use it for 1 Up riding.
I only need it for 150+ mile rides so the bag may work fine...if it works.
