Thanks to all for your input. I am sure most of you older bikers (I am 66) can understand that getting rid of a bike is hard, especially if it is in your blood and the itch to ride does not go away. Now days, I find that I find enjoyment even in the simple act of sitting on it and listening to the rumble of the engine and the sound of the mufflers. I even love the smell of fumes in the morning!! With that said, I will look for a sturdy lift to lock in place and keep it up right which will allow me to sit on it. Keep the rubber side down!!
I don't blame you a bit. If I was in a situation that prevented me from riding, I still wouldn't sell mine.
If you don't mind, I think the issue with the youngsters is that they like the status quo. They are facing an aging padre and witnessing the realities of our existence. The motorcycle may be good to keep around for a while, but I do believe that in that situation it's the new experiences and memories that count.
