95 FLSTN speedometer erratic
Got the bike with 36,000 miles on it. The speedometer was replaced 20,000 miles ago (by original owner), but I don't know if it was a new unit. I replaced the speedometer cable about 500 miles ago, due to its age and not trusting the previous owner to have lubed it regularly. Today the speedometer started acting erratic ie. needle jumping around between about 10 and 30 mph. even if I was going 60 mph. Any suggestions?
BTW- no electronics/ mechanical

Found the problem. Disassembled everything to find that the knurled nut that connects the cable to the speedometer was not there. It had come off and slid several inches down the cable housing and out of sight. Can the bike vibrate that much?
I reinstalled it and added blue thread lock to the threads.
