Default Wheels ?

Thinking about getting new wheels for my 1996 fxstc. Any input on who makes the best or experiences with different wheel makers. Since I have a skinny front wheel my concern is having one that won't bend etc etc

Fat spokes look cool and are pretty sane cost wise. DNA for budget ride write for more. I've ran DNA for a while and not had an issue running them tubeless.

Regular chrome spiked wheels always are a classic as well and if you were closer I have a nice set of 21/16 I'd let go cheap. Billet style wheels like you have now I've got no experience with so I've no idea what's out there but i think hogpro is a company that sells some pretty nice ones.

My fat spokes on an fxst.

I've got Performance Machine wheels on two bikes and like and never had a problem with either.

I think your '96 would look good sporting spoke wheels front and back, lowered and a seat upgrade.

I had a 94 softail classic with the skinny 21" front tire an didn't care for the way it would follow groves in pavement an there wasn't a lot of contact patch for braking...my fatboy has the 130 front an it's night an day different. If it were me I'd go with a 21" wheel with a 120 wide tire. those fat spokes look nice an that bike that was shared is super clean looking. I love the look of a low thin seat but keep the stocker handy for taking the GF.

There are so many choices out there that you need to decide how much you want to spend first.

I think you could save some money and up with something that looks good if you sent the wheels you have now of to be chrome plated and get the fork sliders chrome plated as well.

I find most wheels are ridiculously overpriced. I can't see paying $1,400 per wheel but yet people do it.

agreed...I think $1400 is middle of the road price...you can find fat spokes for a few hundred an custom cnc billet wheels for up to 3K

Price is dependent on what you want as well. This is my road bike, the wheels on it cost twice as much as the DNA fat spokes on my harley.
