I have that same box . How is your backrest attached? I haven't put mine together yet but mine came with 3 screws that doesn't look like it may not be enough to hold it on securely.
I only paid $100 for a new aftermarket rack on eBay.
The screws held the backrest pad on fine. The vinyl is not the best quality but it won't big deal to recover when it tears.
I bought my own hardware to attrach the pak to the rack. Just had to drill the holes where I needed them.
It's ugly, but it matches my bags and too handy for trips. Best part when I get where I'm going I can take it off in just a minute and take it inside. Not bad for less than $200.
