1 was an easy fix, other (bad switch) was covered under their lifetime warranty.
Best mod I've made

I can't vote 4 times, but we have done 4 (one being mine) at my shop without issues. I will be adding a Shotgun shock to my '95 FLSTN as soon as the funds allow...

As mentioned, if you have an issue you are covered under the warranty...

This is a complicated part that replaces a relatively simple part. There will be some failures but what matters is how the company stands behind the product. Shotgun has proven over and over that they are a stand up company. If you want to keep your suspension simple don't buy, if you want comfort it comes with some complexity.

Some failures are expected on all products. What I had hoped to learn from this poll is a percentage of failure. Having heard stories from people with multiple failures within a few months I wanted to provide a means for those with no failures to vote. I will agree that JD has an excellent reputation for standing behind his product but that don't mean squat if my bike is down every three months waiting on a replacement shock, A smart phone is a complex part that replaced a simple part but I still want one that is dependable and do my research before buying. Hoping this poll shows at least 4 to 1 with no issues, I would buy at that point

I had an issue several years ago with a slightly leaking check valve.
The leak was so slow it took all winter to drop all the way down.
With one call they offered to send out a new check valve, which would have been a very easy fix since the valve is on the outside of the shock body.
Within an hour of that call I got another call saying "nevermind, we just sent out a whole new shock".
That new unit hasn't budged in over two years.
What "problems" you do hear about here are almost always relatively minor.
What you won't hear here is complaints about customer service.

Interesting poll but it might be skewed toward "no".

I voted yes. First was a shock that leaked down in the first year of ownership. Got a free replacement. Now I have a compressor that runs but for some reason takes forever to stiffen up the shock. Was just sent a new compressor the other day. If I leave mine aired up it will stay aired up but it looses compression and is all spungy after a day or two. So I always have to stiffen up the ride before I leave. I was told that wasn't right and they told me they would send me a new shock. This was 4 months after receiving my first replacement shock. I told them no thanks. I'll take the new compressor because that's an easy swap. I told them I had no interest in replacing the shock again because no matter how many times you do it it's still a pain in the ***. I can live with adding some air to stiffen up the ride. Main thing is it's not leaking down so I'm ok with that.

But the customer service is great and they stand by their product. But I won't come on here and tell you it's been all good the whole time.

Only issue was self induced when I routed the harness too close to the swingarm and crushed it on a pothole.

Great Product. Excellent customer service
