Well, while were on the subject....What plugs are you guys running in your bikes. I know theres got to be a cross reference that I can buy at a local auto parts. It was a nice day yesterday so I just decided to ride up to the dealer and buy the plugs from them and slobber all over those new M8s on the showroom.
Actually, the Electrode and Insulator (the functional parts) look fine. The oxidation on the 'metal shell' could be from atmospheric moisture, hard water, or something like "S-100". Change anyway and don't worry. Always had the best performance with genuine Harley plugs.
Yeah the bike was running fine, so they must have been OK like most of y'all have said. I've just don't recall ever seeing a spark plug rusted like that.
Good news is, between the screamin eagle plugs and the Harley blinker fluid that I added, I picked up some power.
