Dalton,

When you mentioned noisy what did you mean? I've got top end noise in a '97 Heritage I bought recently and I know it's got a cam, but that's all!

Thanks,

Just more mechanical noise. The 03 RKC had Woods gear drive cams with .575 lift which is considered a high lif cam. Higher the lift, the faster the ramps (ramps are the transition area from the flat of the cam to the tip of the lobe) and the faster everything travels, pushrods, rockers and valves. Sometimes due to fast ramps you will have some valve clatter that you just cannot adjust out. This can also happen in lower lift cams with aggressive ramps.

Current engine is running a Woods .650 lift cam (very high lift) and again I have some valve clatter that I cannot adjust out, but it is not much worse than stock and I have just gotten used to it.

If you have a '97 model and the cams have been changed you more than likely have adjustable pushrods. (Stock engines have fixed length pushrods) It wouldn't hurt to adjust the valves and see if it reduces or eliminates the clatter you are talking about. Valve adjustment is a pretty easy process.

I think I paid like $335 for the cams (TW-6) and they put them in for free for some other work I had done also.
