Yeah that was the plan on the oil.

Whats funny about this buy is I was looking for a triumph touring bike for a trip when I came across this. The guy almost talked himself out of selling it on the phone so I jumped in my truck and drove 3 hours like a rocket. One of the fastest deals I ever made too. I stuck that title in my pocket as soon as it hit my hand.

Thanks great advice! I'm 99% sure its gonna crank and yep I will hoot like an owl if it cranks. Will probably give it a try this weekend.

The guy thinks it has a 95" kit in it but really had no idea as he bought it used.

Got some sheet metal to change out. Tank is banged in on both sides, rear fender was smashed up but I straightened it out a bit. He gave me a stock rear fender he had just bought but its too much. I think I'll bob the bent one. Think I'll lose the front fender as well.

Needs new floorboards both sides and the right bracket and new air cleaner. That'll make it rideable. Then I'll start tweeking.
Paint sets available on ebay all day long - cheap too. Well, about the same you paid for the entire bike, bastard. LOL.. I'm so envious. If the fluids are that bad, may want to check the brakes - lever firm? Might do the brakes too. Caliper rebuild kits are cheap. Check rear alignment. Throttle snap back? New plugs are always nice, how;s the battery? Tires (check pressure)?

Just some quick, simple checks.

Easy now Mike, I'm not just a plain bastard, I'm a cheap bastard. Won't be buying any full paint sets. Hope to find a used tank I can do a rattle can paint job on and maybe a trimmer front fender.

The rear master cylinder was busted so picked up an oem at the hd shop today and will be going through all that stuff as time permits. It's got new plugs and wires courtesy of the previous owner. Put in s new battery and everything lights up. Made me giggle a bit.

Throttle snap back is good and will be better when I actually have the carb mounted. Right now it's just hanging there. The air cleaner went and took half the front mounting stud with it, but there's still enough threads left to screw a new cleaner to. Ordering a Ness Big Sucker tomorrow.

Anyway, as I said as time permits I'll make my rounds and tidy everything up. Thanks for the suggestions.
