I have an 09 Heritage Classic. Over the winter my bike no longer recognizes my fobs. I have changed the batteries but no luck. I have searched for the alarm code but due to a recent move I can not find it.
To answer your question, no. You either need working FOBs or the security code. If you don't have that you must go to the dealer and they can reset the security code and remarry the FOBs to the bike.
Think about someone who steals a bike and has no FOBs or code. Would you want them to have the ability to reset the security system?
It is very odd that both FOBs stopped working at the same time. I would check the antenna/alarm module behind the battery. If you were in there trying to hook up your battery tender or connecting/disconnecting your battery for winter it is possible that the cable harness may have come loose. It shouldn't happen but why not check it, right?
