Default Slim S Tail Light

Hey guys! I've got a 16 Slim S and I'm planning to run some Viking Bags with quick disconnects. I need to relocate my tail lights to accommodate the bags but I absolutely hate the Harley one that relocates the plate and lights to below the rear fender. I think it looks goofy. Does anyone have any ideas or alternatives? Thanks guys!

I bought my Viking bags with quick disconnects along with a rear signal relocation kit from https://www.greatbikegear.com/. Be warned, their rear signal kit broke my rear fender inner bracket (HD part# 59679-11) so I had to buy a new one of those over the winter. There must be a design flaw in the rear signal kit because Great Bike Gear sent me more support brackets over the winter to beef everything up.

Your taillight or your blinkers need relocating. I got rid of my blinkers completely and installed the bar end set from Motogadget. They work great and really clean up the bike? Tail light stays put.

My blinkers and tail light are one in the same. One on each side of the fender, and the plate mounted on the side.

Ah, so on the slim, that piece just below the rear fender is a reflector? Coming at this from a FB Lo angle, lol.

I can never seem to find tape that sticks as good as that stuff!! On a side note, I see you stripped your reflectors. Did they come off pretty easy?

Yeah....the wife's hair dryer (when she's not home) works good.....just heat it up a little and use a plastic putty knife to pry them up enough to get your fingernail under it to pull them off.....eat your Wheaties....they're tough mothers to get off....I used that orange Goof Off **** to get the sticky stuff off....those were the first things to come off my bike....it's like that feeling of ripping the tag off a mattress... Someone told me that it's illegal in California....I feel like a real outlaw biker since I did that.....

When we put the bags on my wife's Slim, I installed the Harley relocation kit. And, yeah... It did look like dog feces. So, we went another route.

We installed glass lensed brake/turn signals with short chrome stalks, and a '32 Ford tail light. I had to fab up a bracket for the turn signal stalks but it bolts to the fender liner that is supplied with the relocation kit where the license plate light used to be. I also fabbed up a bracket for the '32 Ford tail light using, of all things, a small block Chevy fuel pump backing plate and used a stock '32 Ford tail light wiring cover to keep things clean and hide the wires.

Also, Harley was kind enough to prewire the Slims with a center fender brake/running light circuit. There just wasn't a wire running out the other side of the tail light connector. So, I added one using the left over wire connectors that I had from the relocation kit and, Bob's your uncle, center brake and run light. The brake lights still function like stock, but she now has the added visibility of a center brake/running light. Plus, the running light acts as a license plate light. 'Turned out decent.
