Had this bike about 3 weeks now and love it. I have owned a ton of Harleys over the years, but the guy who had this one was about 5 inches shorter than me. I am 6'1" @ 245 lbs and a 32" inseam. The bike came with a Heritage seat and a LePare, but both seats have me really cramped so I got some peg extenders that lower my feet about 2 inches and that seems to have done the trick. I pulled of the shifter and moved it on the spline to fit the new position of the pegs. My question is weather or not I can lower the brake pedal, too. I tried pulling the arm off with NO success. I can ride it as is, but it is a pain lifting and holding your right foot in mid air to push the brake. I can't believe I am the only tall guy riding a Softail.
did you remove the bolt holding the shifter on or just loosen it? on my '15 I had to remove it since the shaft was grooved an the bolt will hold it on without being tight

You might want to look into getting an ez-brake. Basically it will move the brake pedal forward a bit. It is a easy install.
I wish I did have a Heritage Springer. It is just a Softail. As I said, I have owned a number of HDs-- 1990 Heritage and a 2002 Fatboy among a few of them and I did not have any issues with leg room on either. I can't imagine the 01 Springer chassis being that much different from the 02 Fatboy and that is what has me confused unless the fact that they both had floor boards instead of pegs????????????????
I contacted the company that makes the EZ Brake, and their product will only fit Softail models with factory floor boards. Using that information, it seems there is a difference between models with pegs and boards. Huuummmmm
I have the 2" extended brake pedal that also lays a little lower I bought for my bike but I traded it in before installing. I picked up a 2015 slim an the brake pedal is in a more friendly place than my 99 fatboy. I think it was $72 on ebay it's still in the bag you can have it for $50 shipped! you can also look for a tallboy seat
