Default Softbrake Foot Controls

Since I bought my 16RGU I have been looking for a fix for the cramped placement of the foot brake. I'm 6'4" and its quite a flex problem to be able to keep my heel on the floor board while applying the foot brake. With some shoes, I can't do that, so applying the brake isn't as controlled.
I saw a post on here about Softbrake so I checked them out. They offer brake and shifter pedals that work much better for the taller rider. Keeping in mind that the lower fairing constrain how far forward the pedal can be placed.
The +2 version of their brake pedal won't work with lower fairings. Only the +1 will. In the picture below you can see how close the brake pedal comes to the back side of the LF. It doesn't seem to be much difference but it is. The floor boards will need the Softbrake extension kit or any other kit that will move it out 3/4". The brake pedal is designed to sit a little lower than the stock pedal and place the foot pad about 1/2" further forward than stock. I didn't think that would provide enough room, but it does.
They also offer the shifter components to extend the shifter foot pad forward about 1".

I have the same brake pedal and love it, altho i didn't have to space out the floorboard. I'm only 5'8 and even so the extra inch and especially the lower angle make a word of difference in using the rear brake.

You mentioned the shifter extensions but i don't know if you actually got them.. if not i highly recommend them. I have a +1 and +1.5 and it give me the entire floor board for my foot. Best of all it allows me to place the shifters at an angle where i really don't have to move my foot much to shift

And it makes the heel shifter a piece of cake to use...

Yeah, I picked up the extended shifter setup too.

I remember when I road a 16 Road King at a dealer demo day. At 6' 3", I was like "WTF is with this brake pedal being so damn high." Crazy.

Waiting for my 14 FLHP to be shipped to me. Even with the cop seat, which I will keep, I know I have to get a Softbrake, or EZ Brake. Basically, the same thing. Will go at least +2 on the toe shifter. Can barely fit size 12 boots between the shifters.

Likely going to move my boards with either the tall boy brackets, or the kit that moves them forward 1" and out 1"

I'm 6'1". I used the Kury 1" out 1" forward foot board brackets. I ditched the heel shifter, went 2" extended on shifter. I got the 2" extended softbrake. I have a ton of room now. I ran that setup on my 11EGC and moved it over to my 12SERG. I just put aftermarket 14-up lowers on and everything fits. I run my highway pegs low. I have the entire board to move my feet around. Then I can run with a toe on the highway peg and heel on the foot board. Or I hook my boot heel over the highway peg. Lots of variations to break up the monotony.

Hell, I went +0 on my SoftBrake and love that mod. The stock brake pedal height is just stupid.

The brake pedal on the Rushmore models was obviously never tested by anyone that actually rides. Probably just designed with CAD software.

I changed mine to softbrake as well. The original is one of the worst designed brake pedal angles I have ever experienced
