Loud rubbing front brake noise
The last couple times I rode ,as I am just about to stop, a rubbing noise comes from the front brake. I cleaned the rotor and all was quiet. The next ride the noise returned but a disc cleaning didn't quiet things down. My bike is an 07 Night Train with a Performance Machine 6 piston caliper and PM pads. They've been on the bikes for years and never gave me any trouble. I removed the PM pads ,lightly sanded them, cleaned the caliper and applied synthetic brake grease to the pistons and back of the pads, bled the line, only for the noise to continue. Luckily I had a set of Lyndall pads which I installed. No more noise. What could have caused the noise?
