Default saddle bag mounting posts

Hi!

I'm trying to remove the saddle bag mounting posts on my 2009 heritage,
are there bolts on the other end behind the fender?? They seem to be moving but not coming off. it too tight to get my hand in there to feel.

Welcome to the forum from Texas.

The bolts are screwed into metal brackets on the inside of the fender. They are numbers 8 & 9 in the schematic.

The brackets fit into holes in the fender to keep them stable. If the bolts are removed, the brackets will come out. They are not secured to the fender with anything other than the bolts.

Probably wouldn't hurt to set the bike up on a jack and get the suspension off of the rear end that way there is a gap to get your hand in

Thanks for the info guys! I was able to remove the bolts without any issues. Initially, It felt like the bolts were just spinning. Putting it up on a jack gave me some room to get my hand under the fender and could feel there were no bolts!
