Default Front fender mounting

When I took my front fender off of my 2013 street glide on each side it had a aluminum strap that went in between the two mounting bolts and the corners folded over onto the bolts. Do I need to reinstall this, I dont really know the point of it, I would think I could use loctite?

It physically restrains the bolts from turning when the tabs are bent up. Remember, your turning your bolts into ALUMINUM. Loctite will help some, but is it worth the risk?

My opinion for what it is worth.

Agreed, that was what I thought it they were for. I just wanted to be sure and get some other opinions.

Those in my opinion are important remember this thing vibrates and if one of those bolts started backing out it would catch the tire or wheel and could put your **** in the dirt.

ive lost a fender while running 80 on the highway. bolt plates are a cheap way to keep the bolts from backing out

If the lil' bitty tiny aluminum plates are of concern for weight.......I mean what else could the reason be other than maybe safety? ....Put em' back on.

Thanks guys, I put them back on. I just thought they would be a pain in the a** to put back on but turns out that was the least of the problems I had.
