Doing some trouble shooting with a miss fire problem after having the bike painted. The local shop recommended checking the fuel filter. Do you think the pump looks oem? Looks like someone has been in here before judging buy the zap strap holding the one mount together which I will replace.
Going to replace the filter while I am in here. Should I replace the regulator for the $40? Do the fuel pumps fail often?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks again!

Reason: was a screen, not filter
I don't remember my pump having a green top but that could have changed over the years. The zip ties are oem for holding in the pump. As for the fuel sock I should be replaced since you are there. Also the fuel filter is hooked to the regulator and is stainless steel. As for the regulator the hat is cheap plastic and some people have had the tabs that hold it in place break off causing a fuel leak. Trask makes a billet aluminum regulator hat.
a friend of mine had a softail with an intermittent miss. It turned out the the plastic fuel line had a small hole in it and would occasionally suck air.
