My Autozone battery was pretty new and seemed to hold somewhat of a charge but had a very difficult time starting my Train, unless it was hot. I got tired of jumping it so I was determined to buy the BEST battery I could get and it made all the difference in the world. When I see post like "my bike won't start" I always feel like I should recommend one of these. You can even let your bike sit for weeks and still have a bang-up charge. If you don't want to go with a lithium at least get a battery with the most cold cranking amperage you can find, you'll be glad you did and won't be posting things like, "My bike won't start."
Orrrrrr......leave it on a battery tender when it's in the garage.
THAT DID NOT WORK! It would only give you a full on crank for about 10 seconds, if the bike didn't start 1st time around you were screwed! As a matter of fact this is exactly why I'm posting my experience! Don't get stuck leaving your prized possession on the side of the road.
a lot of the V rod guys run them an I haven't heard of one exploding...the battery on the V rod is right behind the steering neck so it up high an knocking 10 pounds off that is noticeable. I've had good luck with the Gel batteries myself.
Apparently you guys only read my 1st sentence, lol, in fact I said: "If you don't want to go with a lithium at least get a battery with the most cold cranking amperage you can find."
