Default Royal Purple for 2017 Slim S

Does anyone here have any feedback on using Royal Purple (20W50) in their bike?

I'm using SYN3 but the tick it gives is driving me nuts! I heard that there are a bunch of different synthetics out there that mitigate that @#$%ing tick (AMS, Mobil1, etc...) but any feedback would help.

Don't use synthetic on my bike because it's so new but I use Royal Purple in my vehicles and I have never looked back. Great motor oil for sure

Royal Purple is an OK synthetic, there are much better oils out there. BUT, no oil will get rid of that tick, its a twincam trait and they all do it. My advise is to get used to it and don't let it bother you. Harley's are air-cooled pushrod motors, they are noisy.. goes with the territory. If you cant do that, look up Rocker Lockers for an explanation of the problem and how to fix it.

No point in making this a part of the 1000s of oil posts, I regret sharing my oil opinion. The point is, its not a lubrication issue.

Thanks Otter! I'll learn to love the tick enough to ignore it.

If you're chasing rocker noise synthetic oil is not your friend. The best I've tried so far & I've tried a lot of oils.... Spectro 25-60 dino oil. And I mean better by a long ways.

Mine doesn't tick.

Does your's tick when you first start it or after it is hot?

What is the oil pressure reading when you hear the tick?
