Default Pillion with Sprung Solo....

Hey all.... After lurking for so long, I've decided to pick your brains with a question...

Recently bought a 08 Crossbones with the Fatboy rear fender mod already done. It appears they used a V-Twin FLSTF rear fender that has the 2007 and up seat mounts on the rear fender.

My question is: Has anyone tried to use a pre-2007 pillion on this setup? This pillion has the exposed tab with the 2 holes. Has anyone measured whether these holes are the same as the post-2007 fender holes. My goal is to use my 1925 saddle and just be able to pop a pillion on quickly if the Mrs. wanted to grab dinner or something. She's not too thrilled with the idea of trusting her butt to suction cups...

Thanks in advance!

The key is making sure the pillion is far enough rearward to allow full movement of the spring solo seat. The 1925 tractor seat is a great unit!

You might look into replacing the front passenger pillion nuts with the Mustang units, and use a passenger pillion designed for a Deluxe if the spacing is correct. This is a really clean look when the pillion is off, and makes putting it on a one-bolt affair. And there are lots of wide passenger pillions made for the Deluxe (happy wife!!). I may even have an extra one.

Shoot some pictures of the front and rear mounting points, with a tape measure for reference. I'll see if mine match up....

Ride Safe!

Sounds good, Dave! Thanks for the info. I'll let you know how it turns out when I get the pillion and take some measurements.....
