looks like you got a great deal....I paid 12.5 for my '15 slim with 6K on it in Apr. I don't have any problems finding neutral but a lot of times I have to play with the shifter to get the neutral light to come on. It won't start without the clutch in if that light isn't illuminated. I put an exhaust system, DK customs air filter kit an use the FP3 tuner. The FP3 does a great job with my mods an it's simple to use. the bike seems to run about 10 degrees cooler with the mods.
If you don't go with a tuner you will have a lot of popping on decel
Ok guys sorry I didnt know how to post in reply to my own post so I hoped someone will reply so I can share . Bike arrived and man oh man what a pleasant surprise it looks brand new and keep in mind this was ebay purchase from 500 miles away. I gave it a test ride and all is good but I have to say finding neutral is real bitch. I already adjusted clutch so will see on next ride how it goes.
This ride is practically new with spider webs under the frame which I was happy about ... I am looking for relatively quiet exhaust while still enchancing performance. Any recommendations are welcome.
I am really curious about this ECM recalibration and wonder if this is really necessy even with stage I.
please keep me posted
Hey congrats on what sounds like a perfect eBay deal! Great bike.
If I was you I'd go for the Power Vision and order it through the guys at Fuel Moto. Easy to use system and it allows you to auto tune and adapt your tune to the different stages during ownership of the bike. Fuel Moto has great support too.

+1 on getting your Power Vision from Fuelmoto. Jamie is really easy to deal with and their customer support is great. Check with them for some slip-on's for your exhaust also
I had a hard time finding neutral on my '14 when I got it back n March. I found that if u shift to neutral while the bike is still rolling slightly it helps. If ur sitting still try easing off the clutch slightly.
When I bought mine it had 1300 miles. Now it has 2300 n it shifts to neutral a lil easier. Maybe it just needs a lil break-in.
As far as exhaust I say go with what u like and what fits n the budget. But if u have plans to one day go full system then ur better off doing that now then slip ons. Unfortunately u can't buy slip ons now then header pipes later to go with said slip ons.
And if all u do is exhaust, u dnt need to re-map the ECM. I just did a set of V&H big shots and I get very minor decel popping. But once u get a new AC u will need to do something to correct the A/F ratio. Though I'm sure some may disagree with me. It's a highly debated topic.
And congrats on the bike!
I believe my issue with neutral could be that clutch was not properly adjusted and seller mention this to me so most likely this is not an issue as I adjusted it but didnt have a chance to ride it after that, yes I know I know
Since bike didnt even have an oil chenge yet (619 miles) and is 3 years old I plan to do oil and trans change first to get fresh fluids. Do you guys know if in 2014 HD already was pouring synthetic? I plan on Mobil 1 or if I can get my hands on Amsoil I will do that as my sportster run way cooler on this comparing to any other oil I tried.
As far as Stage I upgrades I thought about both air cleaner and exhaust at the same time during long Chicago winter. Looks like whatever was simple rejetting and new needle on carb turned into 400$ electronic gizmo now - I guess with my 25 years old sporty and me being 41 I can say as far as this I am oldschool. I was checking on OEM Race tuner from HD. They mentioned this module program ECM directly vs other systems so not sure what to consider here. It is my understanding you keep this module on the bike all the time correct? Meaning you plug it in and it stays on the bike. I also expect this modules will allow me to keep up with my updrades as I go. For this crazy $$$ I really hope so.
Ok good to know my ride will get synthetic no doubt. Just curious do you guys experience any pinging with this engine due to hot operation? What is oil temperature you guys see on your bike. I am asking as this overheating was always issue for my old *** sporty.
If you get the OEM Race Tuner, you will have to go to the dealer every time you change something on your bike.
If you get the Power Vision, that too downloads new software into your ECM directly. And you do not have to go back to the dealer if you make changes. So in the end way cheaper and you are in control.
The V&H box and some power commanders are piggy back boxes that permanently sit on your bike.
Ride the bike for a while before you make your decisions on what to do. Bike is not even run in yet
Yes you are right I just like to plan ahead and I didnt realize about Race Tuner as it was my understanding this is something I could do on my own without dealer input. I checked V&H reviews and indeed 5 stars across the board so I will consider this module for sure. What I like is phone app option to modify settings (really neat).
