I was going by what the MOCO website said on specifications and it did not list cruise on the deluxe but said it was standard on the heritage. I agree you are getting a hell of a bike with the 114". I will be checking one out when the hit the dealer floor.
My mistake, apologies. I thought it was standard on the 16/17's. If they took it away, that's just silly. It's about a $250 upgrade and I wish they would make them for older models. I have an 03 FatBoy and an 08 DLX that will never have cruise. That sux...
I have had 2 newer (2012 and 2016) Heritage Classic and they both rode like crap IMO. I think the new bikes look very good and the improvements on the frame and the motor will maker them big sellers. I find it funny all the people complaining about the 18's and all we have seen are pics.. I bet they look much better in person..I have a 2017 Road King Special and there is a night and day difference from the M8 vs the 103.
I also agree, the people that think the pre 18 Heritage is going up in value are nuts. There are a million of them out there for sale on the used market. That drives the new prices down..
I applaud the MOCO for trying to modernize the Harley line. If people don't like the new bikes, don't buy one.. Its pretty simple..
Yo do realize that this company has been making a living on repeat buyers, trade-ins and the demographic that supports them the most is the above 35 yr olds, right? If that demographic thinks the product looks like ****, I'd be worried, not applauding them.
Somehow I can't help but suspect that it was a calculated move by the MoCo. This launch does not depreciate the 2017 and earlier years. The 2018s still have enough variations that someone looking to buy could still find a suitable model. Then in 2019 I bet that the MoCo will do a Big Bang of a launch.
The 2018 lineup to me is an embarrassment. This is my opinion and Im old, I was raised in the 60s and 70s when the only one that had a Harley was usually in the hells angels and you better steer clear. These bikes to me look so stupid and so far off from what I got into Harleys for in the first place its ridiculous. Even HDs website shows kids riding around and tackling each other. This will be the last Harley I ever own, I got a 2008 fxstc because theyve at least got an old school look, these and the springers. How sad they sold out like this. They basically sold out their current clientele, disregarding what anyone thinks to try to capture the new crowd. What a bunch of douchebags.
