What 1st gen problems are those you're referring to? My 2014 BO has shown no problems so far.

Another question....why would you trade in a like-new upgraded (stage 5?) Breakout for a new one? I simply don't get it unless you do have too much money that you are happy to throw at your dealer?

I read it as any potential issues that may manifest themselves on the new 2018 Breakouts? Whole heartedly agree about throwing money needlessly at the dealers! Must be a salesman's dream when somebody wants something so bad?

My husband is trading his 2016 Breakout in for a 2019 Breakout 114 so I'm keeping mine. He doesn't want a 2018 built date on his because it's better to have 2019 build date on his bike and since we are almost in 2019 I guess that's pretty smart of him <3 it's better for future trade in resale to get 2019 build date ... Once we pick up the new 2019 Breakout in June he will take over mine and I'll get to keep his new one

Sounds like it's time to look for a 2015/2016 garage queen Breakout and let FM put in a 117"....

The new Breakout seat height (laden) is less than an inch higher than last years model, not 1.5 to 2 inches. I personally think the new Fat Bob is the sickest bike in the lineup. You need ground clearance and good lean angles. You can't have performance and a slammed bike....unless you just want to go fast and straight, which is ok but no where near as fun as busting it through winding roads.

The Fat Bob 114 is the next bike on my list.

Whilst not on any list of mine I have to agree the Breakout in standard form used to look the most badass out of the line-up. For both functionality and form I think it is now the Fat Bob, I think it'll be a great bike for the 'twisties' as you mentioned.

But ... a 3.5 gallon tank kills it for me. I'd also consider a low mileage 2014-2017 Fat Bob if they fitted the possibility of cruise control. But not on the Dyna's
