I have the 20014 CVO Breakout and it is my favorite of the eight bikes I currently own. It's beautiful, fast, loud (VH pipes) and just the right weight to be nimble and not unwieldy.

However the new version lacks that classic look. It is not as chromed-up and distinct. This new one looks like a bunch of other bikes. Maybe it rides better--probably does, as I have a '17 CVO Street Glide and the MW8 is a nice engine. But I would much rather keep my '14 than ride the new Breakout, IMHO.

The new one sits also 1.5 to 2 inches taller ... looks crap to me ... look at the FAT BOB for instance the rear fender is so high above the tire it looks horrible. I am interested in the 114 Breakout though

Hi all,

I really like the look and all aspects of my '13 Breakout. I have it dialed in with a very strong Stage 1 setup, and I changed out the world's ugliest factory headlight ever installed on a motorcycle to a MoCo aluminum Bullet unit, which really improved the look of the bike. I use the Breakout as an in-town cruiser and short ride bike...set up as a solo-seater.

I have read all the upgrade references in the forum, and appreciate all the work from those who contributed their efforts. I will be making some of those changes, especially tires, when the stockers wear out (or maybe sooner), and adding an AN fitting braided stainless steel line oil cooler, since I live in the the super-hot SoCal desert. I really don't ride the bike super hard, and so far, it's current performance and handling are fine for the way I ride it. I will not ever sell the bike, as it is such a low mileage unit (<1,500 miles), it will likely never make it to a mileage point needing any major service/repair. AND.......I don't like the newest '18 models.

I also own a '17 SGS, which I am seriously becoming more and more pleased with. It's a whole new riding experience which I use for longer rides/road trips. I don't anticipate much need for splurging out cash for the "newest, latest, greatest" toy that arrives. I've gone through that over the years with both cars and bikes, and I feel pretty confident I've found my final spot in the world with all my current vehicles.

Take care,

JJ

so they would literally rape you on a trade in. and it's only 6 months old, you've barely gotten used to it. why would you want to sell it so quickly. a few other mods and you could get more hp out of it..but why bother, it's fast now. you have a bad *** bike. don't let the MOCO rope you into thinking you need something better already. they do it all the time

It's worth what someone will pay for it.
