I'm curios as well Gibler77 what you don't like about your 17' Road King. I always throw the ideal around of trading my 16' Fat Boy S in for a Road King or Road King Special.
SIMPLY AWESOME, GUYS YOU HAVE TO MOVE WITH THE CURVE, HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ARE YOU SPENDING OR DID ,FROM WHAT I CAN SEE , IS standard on the new line, the new Fat Boy, NEEDED that tire, now its a Fatboy, its a tossup for me now, led all standard, better techs/speedos,bye bye Dakota, if you know what I'm saying here you should agree?

A big part of owning a HD is making it the way you want it and really isn't gonna change with this new iteration. The front headlight is gonna be money spent because it absurd. The shock companies are probably looking for R&D bikes as we speak. The rear fender is not a Fatboy fender at all and probably had an accessory option coming.
why would anyone buy a bike they don't like. did you test ride it? how about research it? that just doesn't make sense.
Really only so much you can research and for every opinion here there's an opposing one. Eventually you have to pull the trigger and see for yourself or you'll never ride anything.
A couple years back I started a thread. It was about Harley not making any bikes that excited me. I got flamed a little bit over it. Bt everything was just the same styling for many years. The brand was going stale. Look how many threads there was about "Guess what Harley will do for next year" or "What will the new models look like"? And all the answers where the same " I predict black will be the new color" for example. It was always something along those lines because it was more of the same every year.
This is the first time Harley truly revamped there bikes. I'm telling you I know Dyna guys are mad right now but researching this new frame I learned that these new bikes will run circles around the old Dynas. The rigidity , lighter weight and design is amazing and that's just the Frame. The new M8 engine is great too. And this new Fatboy will take Harley into the Future for many years. This is what ive been wanting them to do for a long time. Finally made a bike to get excited for!! Now they just have to bring the Night train back in this new configuration!!

test ride. i rode a regular fat boy, a roadking that felt like a heavy ended bus, a switchback tha felt like a smaller roadking and a Lo. the Lo won. plus did my home work on what i wanted out of the bike and what i didn't want. you don't just buy something and say, this sucks but i'll deal with it. amateur move

Yea, did all that too. Still ended up having to replace seat, bars, and floorboard extensions for pain you don't discover in a test ride. If I had known that would be an issue might have gone heritage instead.
but this guy sounds like he doesn't like his bike at all. we all change our bikes to make it our own. but you start out with a good base before you put on the top coat. you don't get something you don't like. who does that besides this guy
Was just curious why you bought it and what you don't like about it?
Purchased the RK because it was the logical step, rather than put hard bags, windshield, touring seat, etc. on my Fat Boy. Figured I'd jump to the new motor, get a smoother ride, dual discs up front, cruise control, etc. I did test ride several times, and it won because I really didn't care for the Street Glide or Road Glide (fairings don't suit me). But, after it's all said and done, I find myself wanting a lighter bike, once again. Nothing wrong with it at all, other than me being a little light in the *** to maneuver 850 lbs. if it were the same weight as the softails, I'd be perfectly content.
