are you kidding, they will try and squeeze every penny out of you from the time you walk in till the day you die. They see the looks on all your faces and they know they have you. I walked in, sat on it and started ripping it apart. the sales kid was gone in 5 minutes. As soon as i said something about getting to the battery and replacing back tires people just walked away. He tried to tell me( you'll get as much out of 240 as you would any other tire), i laughed. You'll wear out the center of that tire at about 7k, then Boom, whip out another 350 for a tire, then labor and i laughed again. People said, well.. he had no answer. umm umm ummm..yeah ok
If someone passes on the 18 Fat Boy because the back tire cost approximately $100 more than a smaller one, there probably looking for a excuse. They simply are not a buyer.
You'd be surprised. I don't think there going to drop in price but its a matter of waiting till the initial craze is over and the dealers come back to planet earth. Once that happens its easier too get one for msrp or a little less. I always do.
I'll be happy with MSRP, no dealer setup, no freight. MSRP plus tax and License without a trade, clean deal. Shooting for January February.

i get an easy 10 to 11k out of my tires. i don't want to have to change them twice a year . plus i said 100 bucks for the tire and labor not to mention the time. i like to ride my bike, not let it be in the shop getting work done.. can't even imagine having to dig that battery out either.
I looked at the new Fat Boy for a long time. I am OK with the new headlight, although I would have preferred a conventional 7" Daymaker without the nacelle.
The only thing I did not like about the 2018 Fat Boy is the wide primary which makes the entire bike feel wider. I guess this is to accommodate the wider rear tire. For many riders, i.e. those of us under 6' 2" in height, this is going to make it harder to maneuver the bike.

Lol.. You obviously don't know me then. I'm a Shark when it comes to buying and selling and I have no problem walking away on ANYTHING when the price isn't right! I buy and sell toys all the time. I have a 2018 Hellcat Challenger on order right now waiting to be built at the Factory that I'm paying under msrp and the car isn't even built yet. Lol
As far as this bike goes just like on Saturday when I went to look at it I never walk in there and look like an excited school boy. Gotta play poker and know when to fold when it comes to buying. And I have NO problem walking away if the price isn't right. I only talk about my excitement on the forum not to the Dealer. Lol
I went to look at them this past Saturday... really liked the Fat Boy and the RG Special...
I like the RoadGlide Special as well. Just wish it was a lot lighter. I actually like the way they look with apes. I like the Road King Special as well. My gripe with Baggers is they are so top heavy. If it wasn't for that id still have my 2014 CVO Road King.
i'm not to shabby either. bought my 2012 lo 2 years ago, it had 750 miles on it, got it for 1250. i did ok.
but this time around the dealers aren't giving much leeway. HD knows it had better get their revenue up of they'll be sinking like under more water than Houston
but like i say. not my cup of tea. to each his own. we all like what we like. it appeals differently to everyone, which is i'm sure what they are hoping for
