I had posted this question in the Dyna section before being reminded that it would be better asked here now. Still trying to accept the Dyna is no more and is included into the Softail family.
So would it be possible to install floorboards on the Lo rider 2018 do you think? HD makes a floorboard kit for previous years just not sure with frame changes it would still work. I know this is maybe too early to ask, just hoping someone might know.
I've been pondering something similar as I want to install footboards on a Breakout (no arguments please). As pointed out above, all the new Softails have basically the same frame and as far as I can tell looking at pictures (no bikes in UK yet), they all use the same mount points on the frame for boards, forward and mid controls. In fact, it looks to me very much like ALL the footboards are exactly the same, apart from being either black or chrome.
So it certainly looks to me that it is possible to swap these around on different bikes. However, the brake and shift levers might need to be swapped also, but I don't think that would be true in all instances. E.g. it looks to me as if the footboards (and mounting brackets) could be installed on a Breakout and still be able to use the original brake and shift levers. But this is as far as I can tell just from the pictures.
