Default I just bought roadking bags for my deluxe...

A friend of mine at work just bought an 07 Road King and replace his leather bags for hardbags. I quickly asked what he had planned for the leather bags, and he didn't know. I told him I take them off his hands and to let me know what he wanted for them. I didn't want to bug him about it, but after 4 weeks I got impatient knowing that those bags were just collecting dust. So I offered him $200 and he took the deal (i bet he would of took $100). So I ordered a set of cycle vision bagger tail brackets yesterday.

Has anyone tried this yet? I know alot of people want to do it but I haven't heard of it being done. If so, anybody have any tips and pictures?

I'm new here and don't know a lot. But ain't the bags for a Delux small so they fit above the tail pipes?

I think that is where Jerry was getting at... meaning road king bags are bigger and you might have a problem with the pipes you have on your deluxe.

Those bags won't work with the stock pipes. If you went with dual exhaust, I would think most any bag will work.

i have the v&h big radius, the manufacture says it does not work with shotgun exhaust. the big radius are shorter than most pipes, should clear.

DJzoo,
Installed the Baggertail about 5 months ago and put the hard bags from a glide on my Deluxe. The instructions are more or less easy to understand. I ended up going to the dealership a few times but in the end it worked out real nice. To get clearance for the bagsI went with Springer Classic head pipes. Not to familiar with how the RK leather bags fit but the only other thing I bought were the quick release pins & clips. If ya got questions just let me know, I would like to post photos but not that bright at making them small enough.
Good luck

I agree with bobros with stock pipes your very limited and what i found out is that when i went to the dual exhaust it opened up my back wheel and let all that chrome show through the stock pipes go right across the better part of the back wheel and your choices for bags are little to none .
