Yeah - that. It'll be a blowout year for Softail sales. Especially as the Softail range will now get ex-Dyna sales....

I'd take this bet in a heartbeat. HD isn't simply trying to sell bikes to the people who already have bikes so much as reach out to new riders. I see these new models, especially the Fatboy and Fatbob, flying off the floor.
I've got a taker.
If they are hoping to bring in new customers, and in the process, alienating their fan base, they are going to take some lumps.

Exactly.

And my opinion matters, because I don't like Softails.

The Fatboy is gorgeous. Not my kind of bike, I'd never buy one, but people will. Oh, yeah.

Don't want a Street/Sportster, and don't want an 800 pound Touring model, but gotta have a Harley?

Well, then...bingo! Another Softail sold.

So, Harley riders/owners/ buyers who aren't interested in a full-size Touring bike are going to be left with a choice between a Street and a Sportster?

You're killin' me.

Like 'em or not, they're the best handling and best performing Softails in the history of the MoCo. (Google "damned by faint praise") No, I don't like them, and I don't want one, because there's nothing there for me, but if you like Softails, or if you like Dynas and don't want a Touring/Sportster/Street, then you're kind of corralled.

Of course, there are other manufacturers out there...
Don't forget, plenty of used bikes, too. There's also a ton of metrics that are way cheaper. There are plenty of choices.

Doesn't matter how much they cost, how unreliable they are, how bad customer service is............they will sell

So not me. I was in the market and was advised that the new models were just weeks away, so I waited to see them before making my choice. I'll be keeping this '18 around for a very long time regardless of what they come out with next. Got some customization to do to make it exactly what I want, but I'm happy and no longer in the market and shiny new things won't change that, for me.

I think sales of these will do very well and HD business will be good. Tough economy for the middle class but they're the right bikes for the times and I think represent a good value.

I'm not a buyer, but if I were, I'd be all over one of the newer models. I see the rear mono-shock swing arm as a big improvement over the older style of rear suspension over both Softails and Dynas.

People have been complaining about the antiquated suspension for a long time. And when it comes....they hate that too.

But like I said. I'm not a buyer. I love my old '06 Deluxe. I owe no money on it, and I'm just not willing to go into debt for a recreational vehicle.

there'sa dealer near me that has 2 brand new 2016 Street glides...they both have the hard candy black paint, which I love and really want to buy, and one has a stage 4 kit...I haven't had the nerve to ask for a price yet...I'm just starting to like my wife. They also have a brand new 2015 softail deluxe...they must not be to willing to deal or you'd think someone would have jumped on them already
