Another little hint is after you get the edges clean, wipe shark hide on them. I use this stuff on my fin edges, and on my Vette I have old school mags that are unchromed and unfinished. The stuff works and its transparent.

Open the link and ho to the bottom of the page, and open the PDF. Read the whole thing and you'll know what to do for a general cleanup/polish. It can be done by hand if the fins are in good shape..

Not that it would matter on fins, but I was reading on another site(Meguiar's) last night about waxing and they said old school diapers and old t-shirts do more harm than good to paint by holding tiny particles of dirt near the surface of them so you end up scratching as you wipe. It said microfiber was the best to use.

I don't think anyone suggested 80 grit paper ... If they don't/won't come clean ( and shine ) a piece of 1500 to 2000 grit paper and a bit of water will do the trick ... back the paper up with something ( like a tongue deflector ) and the paper won't wrap around the edges and harm the black ... follow it up with some clean water and maybe some "Engine Brightner ( HD or S100 ) ... he fins on my 1992 FLHTCU still looked like new when I sold it 2010

Well this thread had a good little run and lately seems to be going south, so for that reason I'd like to put it to sleep. Many of the nail file, sand paper, etc ideas are rather obvious but when I said simple I basically meant that mine are in great condition now and I just want to keep them shinny and when I asked for a simple way I was thinking of something you could spray on and wipe off so for that reason Uncle Kebo (S100 and a diaper) wins the prize, Thank you bro!
