Today was the second day I've had a chance to ride the new bike, got a couple hundred miles in today.
There is no buzzing from the floorboards or bars contrary to some reports. The bike is smooth as silk. There is no throttle lag either, you've just got to get the clutch control correct and it moves off very smoothly. The seat is comfortable but badly needs a backrest. It's doing about 40 mpg which I am please about. The windshield works well and is not too high or too low. The bike gets a little hot on my left calf where it touches the primary. I do not think I will need a crotch cooler and I sat at plenty of signals in the hot Florida sun.
The idle is a little too low, 850rpm just seems like 50rpm too little. I guess I'll get used to it. I like the bag locks but they won't fit a helmet. I guess I'll also get used to the shorter kickstand which is under the floorboard and more difficult to scoop up with my foot.
It is fast, I'm running it in but I can't wait to give it some throttle, it was difficult to restrain myself lol. This might just be the best bike every.
Congrats on the new bike. If I had waited a few months to buy my heritage, I would be riding the same bike!
Glad to hear you are enjoying it and i hope it works out better for you than the last one.
Can't wait to get my '18, but here in the UK they are like hen's teeth - and launch date isn't even until Saturday with no stock at all for immediate delivery. Looks like HD US has sold out the first two major production runs and UK only got dealer display models and demos. Next boatload ships late October....
Yea man over here in OZ these bikes are getting harder to buy and they're not even released yet. I got in on a Bobber early it was a lucky move.
Nice bike Lauren (?) does well !
Nice report. Glad you are liking the Heritage. I've looked at the 2018s a lot, and my 3 favorites are the Fat Boy, Heritage, and Low Rider, probably in that order. I really like what they have done with the Heritage this year, what with the much more subdued studs, and the hard bags. Yours looks great!
How are the floorboards? My understanding is they raised them to increase the lean angle but that also means the distance between them and the seat has been reduced.

They work for me, I don't feel cramped at all, I just feel like I'm on a Softail. I have a 31" inseam so it's not like I have short legs. I can feel that the bike is higher off the ground, I'm looking forward to some twisties.

Did you physically get the bike yet?
If you didn't then check with HD OZ on the current ship date/delivery date because HD UK decommitted on mine! I ordered it 2 days after the US launch date, so was one of the first orders in the country after dealer demos and display models had been accounted for.
Hopefully they won't pull the same trick on you....but it's worth checking.
Anyway - 2018 model year launch party at my local dealer tomorrow night, then test ride on Saturday, even if I can't take a bike home with me :-(

No it's here in my town in Oz or on a truck nearly here , BUT I won't get it till Tuesday as there's only one mechanic at the shop and he's snowed under and Monday is a public holiday , so yea my bike is good .
