So anyway, I took the instructions to my new tach/speedo combo that goes in the tank console of my 02 RKC an lost them. Problem is I didn't hook it up before losing the directions. Can anyone help with that? Anyone keep their directions? I seem to remember there was something unique about the connetions for a RKC.

Sorry that I can't be more help, but here's what I remember...... The instructions kinda sucked for the speedo/tach combo I installed in my '02 Fat Boy. One of the plugs on the bike wiring harness had to be popped apart and have a tiny plastic plug removed from one of the holes so that the pink wire from the tach/speedo unit could be inserted. NO mention of anything like that in the instructions. Luckily the mechanic from my local shop happened to be nearby that day and stopped over. He figured it out in short order.

 

I believe that plug in the connector is for the 04 -05 serial bus bikes, you should find a pink wire in the harness for the tach hookup tied up in the harness that comes from the factory. Some bikes didn't have this wire and the ecm is a source for the tach signal.If you check the wiring diag for that bike, you'll see a blank terminal that will accept it.
