Just had a new speedo/tach combo delivered. Part#74461-03A clearly states '00 - '03 Softails except Deuce. Went to install it on my '02 Fat Boy and discovered that the wiring diagram that came with the unit is not quite right. The hole in the OEM speedo plug that very clearly should have been blank for the pink tach wire from the OEM harness to plug into aleady had a wire there. Fortunately, a friend who is a mechanic at my local mom and pop bike shop happened to be there. He'd seen lots of these units. Popped the plug apart and inserted said pink wire from factory harness into an altogether different hole and guess what? Tach and speedo working just fine. Thanks for the mass confusion and F'd up directions, H-D. Like $419 wasn't enough for the speedo/tach unit. You also had to give bum instructions that gave me a chance to ruin it during installation.
