For those who may have followed my other thread, I changed my mind and decided to get the 114 Fatboy instead of the HC. I really like the Bonneville Salt Pearl paint but my dealer claims there's not a single one in the southeast; closest one he found was in Phoenix, and he doesn't think he can get one in for at least 2-3 months. He's got a 107 with the right color on the floor and a Black Tempest 114 inbound in the next couple days. He said if I paid for labor (9 hours), they could swap the fenders and tank to give me the color I want. I'm probably not interested in paying an extra grand for my favorite color but if he was willing to split the cost (which I doubt he'd do, they're not having any trouble moving the 114 Fatboys) I might just do it.
My question, are there any hidden negatives to doing this which I might be unaware? I know the title will say Tempest Black, not sure if that matters and considering they'd then have to sell a Tempest Black 107 that said Bonneville Salt Pearl on the title so I doubt the dealership is aware of any issues with this practice. Anybody done this and got bit in the *** by it?
BTW, I'm not dead set against the Black Tempest. I've seen it and like it, it's just not my favorite of the bunch.

I personally would wait the 2 to 3 months for the right color. But that is me and I`m from the Northeast so I`m used to not riding for 5 months out of the year.
They can update the color when they do the paperwork if you'd like. Colors change often after purchase with no paper trail to speak of. No *** biting. Just $$$.
Personally I'd rather ride my bike as delivered than have the dealer swap everything before I even fire it up. They should be capable enough, but new bikes need to be put through their paces imo and I like the factory to be the big link in the chain when I'm spending the money to buy new.

I am most likely going to either get the black bike or wait. But I'm really just looking for any hidden issues that might arise.

Bad enough I'm already paying an early adopter premium, I really don't think I'm going to go through the hassle and cost of the swap. My urgency is based more on riding opportunity than any desire or need for the new bike. Normally I have to carry too much stuff to ride a motorcycle to work but for the next month I'm in training and don't have to carry much of anything. A full month of riding to work is tough to pass up!
Have you thought about industrial gray? It goes with the satin finish of the rest of the metal and in some ways evokes the image of the original gray ghost.

I hear that. I can't stay off mine. I liked the Red Denim but wanted to wait to see other colors too... I had just taken the first demo ride on it and they weren't sure when another 114 would be in (it's been a month and nothing has shown up). Decided to go for it since it was right in front of me. I'm glad I did and the color keeps growing on me every day. 1,500 happy miles so far. Gotta hit the road when you can! You can change color down the road.

Finally saw that on a Slim. It's a good looking color.

Haven't seen one in person, but since the dealer doesn't have that in stock either even if I did love it there's nothing to buy. Best I remain ignorant .

I've seen a few FB 107s in white, none with the 114. I'm somewhat flexible in color, I'm dead set on the 114 motor.
