I'm not a fan of the fangs, but I reckon' if my goal is to keep the cool air off of me during the colder months, I can give them a shot.
I did notice riding yesterday, I did like that I was still getting air on/in to my helmet and my arms were getting plenty of air. I did think my legs were a bit cold though, so maybe the fangs will help.
Thing is I want them in Black to match the blacked out look of my FLSS. I contacted the person that had the Black OEM looking fangs on his bike. Apparently he had them powder-coated black...
Hoping this truly fixes the issue and isn't another 100+ bucks for nothing...
Did you have a chance to read the thread I posted?
I had mine powder coated black to match my Lo. Cost me about $60.
If you do not want to powder coat and do not care if they are HD, checkout the following link:
I have a strange situation with the Fangs. Loved them on my 2004 heritage stock windshield but cut down 2 inces so I wasn't looking through it. Didn't like looking through the windshield at all don't understand how people can.The Fangs worked great on that 2004. Bought the 2012 with the windshield already cut or the person that traded it in had a shorter one put on not sure. Anyway I get beat around quite a bit on this bike even with the Fangs, like to the point it throws of my riding angles in turns and such. I been wondering if the windshield with the little curve at the top would help, can't remember who sells it??? Anyway the curve at the top of the shield is supposed to push down on the front forks helping with more front end stability to. Any ideas?
I believe the curved windshield you are talking about is made by Klock Werks
Thanks for the link, Gommee. Wish I had it when I got mine. Might have gotten from there if there were no extra hole to drill.
Here are a few pics of my 18 fatboy with the fangs. I think the chrome is the right choice for the front end of this bike as everything else is silver but the tire and fender.
I'm also uploading one of my wife's scout. We custom made a bracket and used Memphis Shades lowers plastic to mount them on there. Again, the lowers significantly reduced the buffeting. Above the lowers is a Memphis Shades drop down shield. The louver on top is like a Laminar Lip in that it creates a venturi effect sending the air high.
The problem isn’t the windshield it’s the wind being shoveled up your legs into your lap and creating a vortex in your front. To test this out your arm sideways in along your chest and the buffeting will stop. The solution is the Harley fork mounted wind deflectors. When I do a lot of Highway with my 2016 Fatboy Lo I put them on. With them I place the ride is smooth and quiet all the way up to top speed.
Yeah Chrome is a good choice for you FB. Fits the color scheme nicely. It is interesting to see the size of them.
And the angle you took one of the pictures at clearly shows the gap between the fangs and the windshield disrupting the Vortex.
Thanks Again!

You can also check with your HD dealer to see if they can PC for you. A lot of them can PC these days. I normally buy my stuff off Boardtracker but if it needs to be PC'd, I buy it from the dealer have them PC it for me. Usually takes them a week to get to it. They charge a bit more but saves me time and gas from hoofing around town or having it mailed off. The more you have to PC, the cheaper it gets.
One more thing about those fang deflectors. They are often put on backwards, not really what you would expect them to be. The concave part is facing forward, if that makes sense.
Lower air deflectors are definitely the answer. I can now wear my regular prescription glasses and a baseball cap with the brim forward with no problem what so ever !!!
I even slotted the mounting holes so I don't have to remove any of the windshield docking hardware to remove them if I wanted to.
