I added the Fangs to my 17 Heritage....Get's rid of the air coming up around the front of the tank, I have no buffeting....
On some Models you can also add the the lower triple tree ashtray for around $20, I had that and the fangs on my Street Glide....
And LRS "Long Ride Shields" has nice curved Shields.

Problem with putting them convex (bulge outwards) was wouldn't work on my bike because they hit the Highway/Crash bars at full directional lock, plus had additional issues with my relocated turn signals being in the way.

If you don't have the crash bars or relocated turn signals, then go with whichever way looks best I guess.

The concave (curve) is supposed to scoop the wind up behind the windshield. If you put them convex, they will hit the crash bars if you have one.
Bulge out will not allow them to do what they are designed to do.

I've read on DK Custom's website that the fangs can reduce air flow an cause the motor to run hotter...if you ride i a hot climate you might want to keep an eye on it.

Hard to believe, my wind deflectors do not stop any airflow to the motor.
Now I have lowers that go on my crash bars for cold and wet weather riding. I have been warned and read that these will cause low airflow to motor and can cause over heating in hot temperatures.
Riding with them on here will not cause any issues, but riding in Arizona with them on would not be recommended...

The HD fangs have a gap between the blade and the fork. Air gets through to the engine just fine. I've never seen any temp increase according to the FP3 app running with or without them. I was concerned about it too. They just break up the turbulence is all.

I'd be more concerned about crash bar mounted lowers.

The lowers on the crash bar will indeed raise engine temperatures. See this link for data i collected. This was on my 2016 Sportster.

Very interesting. I've heard rumors of this, but it's great to see some proof. Thanks for posting.
