I don't blame you, I think it's just the luck of the draw with these dealers. I have the same bike with a aftermarket 107ci kit programmed with a Powervision, Legends air shocks. When it had about 2000 miles on it I started to see oil on the garage floor, under the bike. I did a 200 mile ride on labor day and find a puddle on the floor the next morning, the case halves were leaking, the machine at the factory did not put sealant on in two different places, very rare on the twin cams. Had nothing to do with the top half kit and they knew it, they also knew if the did not cover it, they lost a customer for ever. They fixed it luckily, book is 11 hours + parts.
I'm really sad to hear about your plight as well ... at least your bike is now fixed.
The saddest part is we bought 5 brand new bikes off the same dealership since 2013
At least you finally have a nice looking ride. I'm sorry you're getting so much disrespect from the young in this thread, I'm sure my generation would be proud to have a daughter or granddaughter as pretty as you and able to ride a bike like that. I am of my daughter, anyway.

And they still screwed you like that, unreal. This is going to blow up in the MOCO's face. My story had a happy ending, It's you and your husband I feel bad for. What kind of people screw over loyal customers?
I would like to know the original issue as to why you took the bike in. I must of missed another thread, and only get half the story from this one.
Various threads with tid bits of information here and there. Eventually some people put it together. Short version is the husband modified the bike after it was tuned and did not retune it or get it retuned which caused problems. It is kind of hard to blame HD for that,
Why in the world would you even consider trading a stage 5 2017 Breakout in on a 2018 Breakout anyway?
Thanks for filling in the story prot, doc.
Doesn't really add up and seems some information has been held back. Can't really blame the dealer, I'm sure after 5 new bikes he would of liked to stand by the lady but just couldn't as it was her/there fault.
Sounds expensive for new pistons and rings and honed again, I wonder if the crank has slipped also.
