Buddy...what are you thinking with a statement like this???

We need more women riding HD's and participating on this forum, not less.

Why can't you just appreciate a pic of a beautiful Lady and Motorcycle without degrading her.

Come on man!!!!!

Piece of friendly advice, if you think the grass is greener on the other side you are sadly mistaken. Not only that, but I can't think of a bike Indian makes that would look good on you. Stick with HD, this will all go away soon enough. I have a close friends that own a Indian dealership, for obvious reasons I can't say names but you are FAR BETTER OFF.
Every dealer has horror stories.

My two local Harley dealers have 3 month backlogs of bikes waiting to be fixed. It's been that way for the last 3 years.

Walked out to crank my bike this morning. No-go. Something electrical it seems. My issues with quality control are beside the point. Having to wait 3 months to get your bike worked on regardless of cause isn't going to cut it.

And no, I'm too busy at the moment to tear into it myself.

If they put the bigger engine in a scout I might just have to do some bike trading. If it has problems, I can at least get it back in a week or two.

Wow, 3 month backlogs! Simple solution would be to hire more techs, especially since you live where the riding season is nearly year round.

That would seem to be the simple solution, but I don't run the dealership and have to deal with what they have.

As near as I can tell, the turn around rate at those shops is pretty high. It looks like they just hire interns and they haul **** the second they graduate from whatever course they're working towards.

Don't even get me started on how many times they've messed my bike up and a couple cases where I had to show them where to look in their shop manuals. Seriously, the boneheads wanted to tear through the primary to replace the VSS.

That's brutal...plus a three month wait for that abuse?? I'd look for good indy. We're lucky in SoCal. Most shops have many techs with 20+ years and work is usually same day or within a few. Plus there's a strong indy market. Spoiled for choice. Things still go sideways sometimes, but it's never been hopeless. Sorry for your troubles.

Cracking me up Jessica. I could say the same thing about your Twin Cam. What you'll learn over the years ahead is no generation of Harley sounds like the previous. Your Breakout sounds nothing like an Evo, which sound different than a shovel, than a Pan..etc...but I bet it still sounds good! We all have our own favorites. Enjoy that beast.

Yes, I should bite the bullet and start researching Indies at some point. It might have to wait for something more serious. In the time I spend researching them, trailering, and dropping off I could be halfway through troubleshooting this latest glitch.

Thanks for posting your vid Thingfish!

Jessica, mine sounds like that. Except the deepest tones don’t come across like when you’re standing there, but close enough.

And to add, while I personally like the sound of many exhaust systems I hear, I do think some extreme examples belong on a track and not on the road. You’re understanding might be reflected in your attempt to quiet yours down a bit. And beyond my own level of tolerance, my neighbors in this HOA would not be cool with too much louder exhaust. They noticed when I put these on, but not to a point of a complaint. There are a number of riders here, but all the bikes have baffled exhaust systems to some extent. You can hear ‘em go by and recognize who it is by the sound, but no straight pipes.

The Street Cannons make the bike a lot more enjoyable to ride. If HD’s own product doesn’t sound like an HD, oh well then. I’m definitely not winning any loudest bike competitions, but I’m good with that. It no longer sounds stock either, and I expect they’ll eventually break-in like the stock exhaust did. And hopefully the farm houses on the country roads I frequent don’t consider me a nuisance. I don’t want to rattle their windows either. It’s the right exhaust for me.

Having said that, I can still appreciate a Stage 5 beast! Especially nice that it’s a Breakout.

Ride on sister!

Do you have video of what your bike sounds like when you are riding it? I've always wanted to hear what the 114 sounded like
I will freely admit that I never even knew a stage 5 existed!! I thought it was 1 through 4 with a and 2 being the most popular...

Our local dealer has 2 -3 month waiting list just to get a bike... And I live in Nor-Cal. New dealership opening up just 20 miles away from the current one by my house. I have 4 dealerships within a 75 mile radius. more than 10 in a 100 mile radius. HD is doing just fine...
