looking to go 33 in. fishtails. which would you pick? cobra, Sampson, bassani, python, freedom.......gotta have the option of a baffle, I want the look but don't wanna lose all my bottom end.
Any of them will look good. The Samsons hug the primary closer than the others, something to look at if you have short legs, otherwise you legs are closer to the pipe on the left side of the other manufacturers. That being said, they will require an altered shift linkage rod, which comes with the set of pipes.
My Sasmsons also have removable fishtail ends, as well as removable baffles. The Samsons also come in different lengths, you don't have a choice with the others.
I have the Kerker Super Trapp fishtail exhaust on my 93 Heritage Classic. They have a really nice rumble but I'd like something a bit louder so eventually I'll replace the mufflers with straight fishtails.
I did quite a bit of homework and ordered 36" Samson Sinister Black. Will be mounting as soon as they get here. Hopefully in the next week or two. But that doesn't help you make a decision.
I found that the youtube videos suck for audio comparison but what I did notice is they sound awesome when under load on the video. revving in neutral is not the way to hear them. I think I will be happy. Will find out anyways. Good luck on your choice.

I was looking into the same situation with the True Duals w/Fishtails. I've heard the same about the Samsons fitting closer to the primary, but never heard about having to alter the shift linkage. Is that the case with all softails or just certain years?

I believe it is all Softails for all years. It is that way on my 2012 Heritage.
This is the shift linkage provided by Samson with the exhaust system.
