Default FYI - 2017 Heritage Classic

Just an FYI. First off, I'm not sure if my 2017 Heritage Classic is an oddball or if others have a similar situation. Here's the thing. I just did my stage one upgrade over the weekend. I pulled my original pipes and after I wrapped them up to save them I went back to the bike and saw a significant wear mark on one of my oil lines. Apparently the oil line being somewhat flexible was rubbing either on the pipe itself or the heat shield or heat shield clamp. I have about 8000 on the bike, but the way it looks, another few thousand and it could possibly start leaking. Just a heads up that you might want to look at.

I would have put a picture up, but since Photobucket changed I haven't got a new source yet.

Good to know, thanks. Right now I'm getting a leak from behind the jug around one of the lines and have the same amount of miles as you. How's your's look?

Hi. Top pipe? Lower one? Can you tell us where and what oil line specifically? Thanks!

Default oil line

It is the outside line in between the two mild bends. If you message me an email address I'll send you a picture and maybe you can post it.

I'm sure you can find other info about posting a pix, but simply take a photo with your cell phone or digital camera. Then just copy to your computer, using a USB cable, to a picture file. Then all you do is click on the PIX icon (next to the Smiley) in the tools line above your reply and drag and drop from the picture folder. No special photo program needed.

Hope this is of some help.

Here's a picture from a guy I was talking to on Facebook. This is his stock.

I know on my 17' there's some little plastic line spacers on those oil lines. Maybe yours need re-positioned?

Maybe, but the new pipes took care of any of my rubbing. I just posted to give others a heads up. Thanks.
